Elite Series Street Fighter: Week 1 Recap

The second season of the Gfinity Elite Series is well underway. Kicking things off on a Friday would be Street Fighter V and Epsi SF were in action against Team Infused. Let’s take a look at what happened.

The first game would see Brick take on Shakz. Unfortunately, Shakz was too strong for Brick as Infused grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the series. Next up, Kojakkira would face ImStillDaDaddy in what was set to be a close contest. Kojackkira managed to land a few combos before ISDD took control of the game to give the opposition a 2-0 lead.

Linkexelo needed to get a win on the board against Afii. The first round went in favour of the Frenchman thanks to a phenomenal comeback. Afii responded in the second to force a deciding third round before closing out the game. Infused now had a 3-0 lead. Epsi needed a reverse sweep to take the series, could they pull it off?

The fifth game of the series would see Linkexelo remain on the sticks to take on Shakz. A great performance from him secured the first win for Epsi SF. Was the comeback real? Brick’s second game of the series would be against an in-form ISDD. The General took a convincing victory, taking the series 4-1 for Infused, handing us our first loss of the season!
