Epsilon Esports win at EGL13!

Last weekend, we attended EGL13 in Blackpool, UK, one of the last major CoD Ghosts events of the calendar.

Being the defending EGL champions, we had a bit of pressure on the team, especially with other teams coming into the competition with good form behind them.
It was a relatively small pool of teams competing with a total of 29 teams, however, this simply meant that the level of competition was very intense as all the most relevant UK teams, plus Vitality, were in attendance.

Our first match was against Plasma on the Saturday and this ended in a relatively straightforward 3-0 win. However, next up we faced a newly formed TEC line up, consisting of 2 ex Epsilon players in XLNC and Flux.
The match got of to a staggering start with TEC taking the first Domination. This seemed to be a catalyst for the Epsilon boys though, as we then took the next 3 rounds to secure a 3-1 win.

Sunday morning saw us start against Orbit, and a relatively easy 3-0 win showed that there were no detrimental effects carrying over into the second day!
This lead onto the WB Final versus the form team of the event Exertus. After knocking TCM into the losers bracket, Exertus were high on confidence, and it looked to be a difficult series to call.
However, although the games were close, we managed to pull out a great 3-0 victory against very worthy opponents. A grand final berth was achieved, but who would we face? TCM were to play Exertus once again in the LB Final.

And what a match it was! Exertus had a 3-1 lead in this continuation series, yet TCM played some amazing CoD to claw back the deficit. However, Exertus just managed to pull out the win 6-5 and join Epsilon in the Grand Final.

We held a 3-0 lead in the continuation series, and could we pull out the 3 rounds needed to gain the title?
Well, despite a small hiccup of dropping a round, we played with great composure and skill to pull out the win 6-1. A particular highlight being Tommey’s SnD Ace which included 3 sniper kills and a pistol kill to finish the Ace off!
Well done to all the boys on an awesome weekends work, gaining much needed momentum going into this weeks MASSIVE event at G3!
